HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!

This is a day of many thoughts about my mother and grandmothers that have" set the bar" for me, as a mother.  I am so grateful for their love and example.  A thought that was brought out in our sacrament meeting today was this...the term "mother" was given to Eve even before she had children.  Thus mother is first and foremost an indication of our nature and not a head count of our children.  A "mother heart"  is an endowment of the power to love.  Comparison is the thief of joy and we each are better than we think that we are.   I hope that you all have had a great day contemplating mothers !

This week has been a happy, busy week.  On Monday, we said goodbye to one of our service elders:  Elder Reynolds .  He has served for 18 months and his entire family came out to pick him up and to meet everyone.  He is loved by all who know him.
Receiving his flag from Jordan and then bearing his testimony.  He is a man of few words but a strong spirit.

On Friday, we said goodbye to Elder Hale (another of the service missionaries).  He was a companion to Elder Reynolds and has 4 months left but has been asked to come back to his home stake in Virginia and help to start the new service missionary program there.  It now consists of service missionaries staying at home and serving within their own stake.  Their rules allow them to have social interactions and educational opportunities there.   We still have two service missionaries here who are expected to finish out their missions in September.

On Wednesday, Jim was able to have Sister Green and Sister Taylor helping him out in the paint shop.  Here they are painting the famous pickets.  Such a happy companionship !!  Their energy and enthusiasm is contagious!

On Thursday, Stacey sent me a couple of pictures of little Paislee Ann and it is fun to see how she is growing.  Stacey says that she is a really happy, sweet little one and it shows!  Of course, I may just be a wee bit prejudiced...haha !

Who could resist that face ?!?!
As, I am sure that you can see, I am very grateful for family.  They mean everything to me....that includes all my siblings and their spouses and children.  It certainly is true....a mother is as happy as her children are and I am so grateful for happy children, grandchildren, and a little great granddaughter.  When we can look at the world through the eyes of a child, it truly is a wonderful place that a loving Heavenly Father has provided for us.

Have a good week....move forward with faith and gratitude !
