Happy Father's Day !

I feel very blessed to have my father here and a part of my life and the life of my family members.  He is faithful and loyal to his family and more importantly to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Because of his example and complete integrity, I chose a husband who also exemplifies those characteristics.  They are a forceful influence in my life and I am grateful for them both.   I , also, would like to pay tribute to our sons and son-in-laws who are great men who love and take care of their families.

This is what the YW passed out for the fathers after sacrament meeting today....cute candy-gram!   Jim really appreciated the phone calls and communication from our kids today.

Jim finally finished and placed all of the picnic tables this week.  He checked back in his journal and realized that he started them the end of April but, of course, he was interrupted several times with other things that had to be done.  Nevertheless, he is happy to see the end of that project !  Here they are along with a picture of the tree surrounds that he puts up for them after they plant a new tree (to protect it from the deer)

So, last night, we had another night of heavy rain!  We share the garage with our neighbors ..the Mensels.  Their garage door broke last week and has not been replaced yet so their side of the garage is wide open to the elements.  Anyway, we got a little mini-lake in the garage so had to pull up the rugs last night.  And then, this morning we found a wee little family of frogs hopping around. I thought that the grandsons would like to see them !

Also, the turtles have returned to the logs along the river bank.  I even saw one trekking his way beside Parley Street up to our house.

The water lilies are beginning to grow in the river , as well

The most impressive thing this week has been a mission conference with Elder S. Gifford Nielson of the Seventy.   He played as a quarterback for BYU and then for the Houston Oilers for 6 years before becoming a sports commentator and anchor on television.  That is cool but he gave us some training that was amazing.  I will share his final blessing for us.  He said that because of our service here and as we continue to study and serve, our families would live (in the eternal sense) and that the powers of heaven would be ours.  The spirit confirmed that to me powerfully and I am grateful for that!

We love our family and desire that fulfillment now and in the eternities.

Have a great week and know that you are thought about everyday
